The RSA Angela Vivian Memorial Lecture 2008
This annual event is being held in two locations on consecutive days this year in Cardiff and Bristol, with our main speaker being Dr. Michael Braungart at both locations. Michael will present his main lecture
Cradle to Cradle - Life Cycles, not Recycled
A better environmental approach
Michael Braungart is one of Time Magazine's 'Heroes of the Environment' 2007, and since March he is Visiting Professor at UWIC, Cardiff, working on a design strategy for Wales along Cradle to Cradle principles, as he has been doing with the Dutch. He has been called the world's only truly 'green' chemist. He has a research laboratory, EPEA, in Hamburg, Germany, from which he works with major multinationals to design products which at the end of one useful life, clearly have good potential, not a just a second-rate second use. He is also a very entertaining public speaker.
Before that, in an opening presentation, Alex Cook & Paul Foster will tell you about the fascinating development of Wedmore's e-sports Cafe, a venture founded by Angela Vivian in 2003. Angela was a keen social entepreneur and developed this concept of a different kind of "youth club", one managed by young people for young people.
The lecture this year is being held in 2 locations, Cardiff (15th May 2008) and Bristol (16th May 2008). If you would like to attend the Cardiff event please click here.
Registration opens at 6:30pm, with the presentations beginning at 7:00pm.
